E195-E2 at Azul. A Year of Flying.

It’s hard to believe that it was one year ago that we delivered our first E195-E2. Azul, the launch operator for our biggest jet, received the aircraft at an extravagant ceremony at our Faria Lima facility on September 12, 2019. Since then, Azul has added 5 more E2s and plans to eventually have a fleet of 75 E195-E2s.

The airline is a true success story. It started flying in December 2008 with just one airplane, an E190. Today, Azul commands a nearly one-third share of Brazil’s domestic air travel market, flies internationally to Europe, Argentina, Uruguay, and the USA, and it is one of the largest carriers in the country.

In Incredible Journeys, Azul CEO John Rodgerson cites the airline’s close Embraer partnership as one of the reasons for its success. Azul has earned a sterling reputation among its loyal customers and industry peers. Trip Advisor gave it the site’s Travelers Choice Award (2017,) Skytrax named Azul the best low-cost carrier in South America (2016) for the sixth consecutive year, and OAG recognized it as the world’s most on-time low-cost airline (2015.)

See where the first E195-E2 is flying today in Episode 7 of Incredible Journeys.
