Embraer has joined forces with IATA and leading aircraft manufacturers to share the results of our research on covid-19 infection inside the passenger cabin.
At an IATA press conference yesterday, we showed how modern aircraft, like our E-Jets family, are engineered to limit the risk of in-flight virus transmission and how the use of face masks reduce the probability of onboard infection.
We cited detailed data from both computational fluid dynamics analysis and tests on a full-scale E-Jet mock-up. The results proved the efficiency of the aircraft’s cabin air flow and filtration system in capturing a molecule that is even smaller than that of the new coronavirus.
