One million happy flyers

Mr. Kanjiram Jitender (red shirt) and his family were greeted by Mr. John Abraham, Air Costa’s VP of Sales, Mr. B. Ankesh, the airline’s VP of Airport Services, and Mr. Pramod Mitta, Manager of Media and Corporate Communications.

Just 21 months since its first revenue flight, Air Costa of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has carried its one millionth “Happy Flyer” passenger.  The distinction was given to Mr. Kanjiram Jitender who checked in with his family at Bengaluru Airport for an Air Costa flight to Hyderabad on June 29, 2015.  Mr. Jitender received a giant boarding pass and a gift and posed for photos with representatives of the airline.

Cabin crew and customer service staff throughout the network commemorated the milestone by wearing buttons on their uniforms.  Although Mr. Jitender was officially celebrated as the lucky passenger, Air Costa used the day to recognize all its customers that helped contribute to the one million happy flyers milestone.  Captain K. N. Babu, Air Costa’s CEO, issued a statement thanking them “for making us what we are today.” He added, “We are excited on achieving the first milestone of flying one million passengers and firmly believe (we will) achieve greater success moving forward.”

Air Costa started revenue service on October 14, 2013 with two E-Jets.  Today, the airline has a fleet of two E170s and two E190s that serve nine cities: Vijayawada, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.
