Embraer delivered the first of two new E175s to the Nouakchott-based carrier at a ceremony at the company’s São José dos Campos factory on March 28. Acquisition of the 76-seat, dual class aircraft are part of the airline’s fleet modernization plan. Mauritania Airlines currently flies one ERJ145. The second E175 will be delivered in the second quarter of 2019.
The E175 is ideally-suited for the region, especially with its range, cargo capacity and dual-class layout. The new E-Jets will be used to add frequencies and expand the airline’s current 13-city network across western Africa.
