Spanning two continents, Istanbul is home to one of the most strategically positioned airline hubs in the world.  Now, Embraer’s first E-Jet operator will soon begin flying E190s from the city’s Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.  The carrier will link Istanbul with cities across the country of 76 million people.

Four E190s will join the fleet as part of an initiative to upgrade its turboprop fleet, add capacity and frequencies, and grow its network.  The range of the E190 was particularly attractive to Borajet according to the airline’s CEO, Mr. Fatih Akol.  “We will now be able to offer our passengers new destinations that were not possible to reach with our current fleet of turboprops due to the challenging and varied topography of the region.”  Flight time between Istanbul in the west and the eastern most cities is about two hours and covers a distance of some 1,300 kilometers.

Each aircraft carries the name of a city in Turkey and is configured with 100 seats in single class.​
