Our newest E-Jet E2 completed its maiden flight today. The E175-E2 took off at 11:07 AM local time and flew for two hours and 18 minutes around São José dos Campos.
In command of the aircraft were company pilots Captain Mozart Louzada and first officer Wander Almodovar Golfetto and flight engineers Gilberto Meira Cardoso and Mario Ito. The aircraft took off and landed with fly-by-wire (FBW) controls in normal mode. The crew evaluated aircraft performance, flight quality and systems behavior.
The E175-E2 certification campaign will use three aircraft including one for aerodynamic and performance tests and another for validation of maintenance tasks.
The inaugural flight of the E175-E2 completes the three-member E-Jets E2 family. It joins the E190-E2 and E195-E2 in providing airlines with the most technically-advanced and environmentally-friendly new-generation airplanes on the market.
