The airline’s 16th E195 was just delivered – its first revenue flight from Vienna to Bologna was last Tuesday. Austrian’s 17th E195 – coming in August – will complete the carrier’s regional fleet modernization plan. Embraer E-Jets have now replaced Austrian’s 21 Fokker jets which were the reliable workhorses of the airline’s short-haul network for decades.
Customers flying the E195 have noticed the switch to E-Jets. Austrian’s frequent onboard surveys have registered increases in scores for overall aircraft satisfaction, seat comfort and condition of the cabins. In one category, the gain was nearly double-digit.
