Swiss carrier adds E-jets to its fleet

Helvetic Airways AG of Zürich has started flying the first of seven E190LRs it has acquired on long term leases from Airfleet Credit Corporation.  The E190 departed today on a round-trip flight from Zürich to Berlin.

The 112-seat, single class E190s were previously flown by Niki Airlines of Austria.  Helvetic will deploy three of the jets across its own network of scheduled and charter flights.  The other four aircraft will be flown on behalf of SWISS which is using the Helvetic E190s to replace the carrier’s four oldest ARJ-100s.

Deliveries started last month.  The seventh E190 is expected to join the Helvetic fleet by June 2015.
