Myanmar Airways Starts Flying E190s

The first of four E190s recently acquired by Myanmar Airways International started scheduled passenger service on December 21st. The first flight took off from Yangon International Airport to Myeik.

The 98-seat E190s are replacing some longer-haul turboprop services currently flown by Air KBZ, MAI’s partner airline. In addition, MAI’s second E190 is due to arrive in the country on 23 December 2020.

With MAI joining the Embraer family, the number of E-Jet operators in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China) has increased nearly 60% in the past six months.
