Air Mandalay of Yangon, Myanmar, took delivery of its first E145 earlier this month. Bearing registration YX-ALD and named “Hanna,” the 50-seat aircraft is the first regional jet for the carrier which currently operates three turboprops. The airline started using the 50-seat E145 for charter flights on March 19 and will introduce the airplane on scheduled services in April to some of the dozen cities in its domestic network.
Air Mandalay is the second commercial airline to operate the E145 in the region. In January 2013, NOVOAIR Air of Bangladesh began flying 49-seat E145s to four destinations in the country from Dhaka. The airline has three E145s in its fleet.
