Mr. Jiang Jianqing, Chairman of ICBC, signs the agreement in the presence of Mr. Frederico Curado, President and CEO of Embraer, Mr. Xi Jingping, President of China (seated), and Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President of Brazil.

ICBC Financial Leasing Co, Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, is adding up to 20 E190-E2s to its current asset portfolio of over 380 owned and managed aircraft.  The acquisition is for 10 firm-order E2s and purchase rights for 10 additional aircraft.  Delivery of ICBC Leasing’s first E190-E2 is scheduled in 2018.

The Chinese leasing entity selected the E190-E2 to diversify its resources and to help it expand its presence  in the regional aviation market.  For Embraer, ICBC Leasing offers prospective customers another option to procure E-Jets. ICBC Leasing joins AerCap of the USA as a lessor of E-Jets E2s.  In 2013, AerCap announced the acquisition of up to 50 E190-E2s and up to 50 E195-E2s.

The leasing community has been a strong supporter of Embraer E-Jets.  Some 30 leasing companies have added E-Jets to their fleet portfolios.
