During a November visit to J-AIR coinciding with the delivery of its fifth E170, Embraer Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Alex Glock, recognized the airline’s outstanding technical performance. In its first year of operation, J-AIR achieved 99.7% fleet dispatch reliability, the highest among any E-Jet operator in an entry-into- service period.
Mr. Glock presented commemorative plaques to J-AIR CEO Mr. Tsuyoshi Yamamura and Mr. Yoshihiro Watanabe, Senior VP, J-AIR Maintenance.
“It’s an impressive achievement” said Mr. Glock. “It’s a direct result of great teamwork between J-AIR’s operations and maintenance staff and our local Embraer support personnel.”
J-AIR selected the E170 to serve domestic city pairs with right-sized capacity from Komaki Airfield, just 17 km north of downtown Nagoya, one third of the distance passengers must travel to the larger Chubu International Airport south of the city.
The airline’s E170s are configured with 76 seats in single class.
Since J-AIR is a 100%-owned subsidiary of JAL, Mr. Glock used the occasion to meet with Mr. Toshiyuki Kawarabata, JAL’s VP of Purchasing and presented him with a plaque commemorating the airline’s first anniversary and reiterated Embraer’s commitment of support.
