First E195-E2 Fuselage Fatigue Tests

First E195-E2 Fuselage Fatigue Tests

The first E195-E2 fuselage was transferred from Embraer’s main Faria Lima assembly facility to its Eugênio de Melo site in São José dos Campos on September 22. Both the fuselage and wings will undergo fatigue tests as part of the certification process for the E190-E2 and E195-E2.

The test airplane is composed of an E195-E2 fuselage and E190-E2 wings. The ground-based fatigue tests simulate structural stress produced by every stage of flight – from take off to landing – over the useful life of the aircraft. A total of 240,000 flights will be simulated, three times the number of flights of an aircraft’s typical life.
