Embraer’s TechShark E190-E2 to premiere at the Singapore Airshow

The E190-E2 is the world’s quietest, cleanest and most efficient new-generation single-aisle aircraft

Embraer’s digital predator design, The TechShark, premieres at the upcoming Singapore Airshow which will take place from 15 to 18 February 2022. The eye-catching effect on Embraer’s E190-E2 was specially produced for the Singapore Airshow and is set to be a popular attraction at the event.

The E190-E2 (call sign 2-RLET) departed Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil on 9 February 2022, and is expected to land at Singapore’s Changi Airport on 12 Feb 2022.

The E190-E2, part of Embraer’s E2 family of advanced jets, is dubbed the profit hunter because of its high performance and low fuel burn. It delivers the lowest operating costs and highest yields for airlines, more comfort for passengers and space for their bags, smallest noise footprint and less impact on the environment.

“Since we last gathered in Singapore in February 2020, our industry has been challenged like never before, and responded with incredible resilience. This event comes at a key moment for our industry as we tackle critical challenges – enabling airlines to reposition themselves for better growth and the environment,” said Arjan Meijer, President and CEO Embraer Commercial Aviation.

“We forecast that Asia Pacific, including China, requires more than 3000 aircraft under 150 seats in the next 20 years,” says Raul Villaron, Asia Pacific Vice President for Embraer Commercial Aviation. “Crossover jets like the E-Jets E2 and the first-generation E-Jets play an essential role in enabling airlines to open, develop, and grow their networks profitably. The airlines that incorporate these jets into their strategy are also able to adapt dynamically to fluctuations in market demand and capacity needs, while protecting the bottom line.”

Embraer is committed to developing products, solutions and technologies to contribute to the aviation industry’s goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Embraer aims to be carbon neutral by 2040 and achieve carbon neutral growth from 2022. It plans to implement 25% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) use in its operations by 2040 and 100% renewable energy sources by 2030.

The company has a recognized track record of innovation in sustainable fuels, which includes the industry’s first certified ethanol-powered aircraft in 2004. Working closely with its customers and partners, the company has been continually enhancing the efficiency and performance of its current and future products. The E2 family of jets, for example, is targeted to be compatible with 100% SAF before 2030.
