E190-E2 World Demo Tour Wraps Up

Nearly 5 months after kicking off at the Farnborough Air Show last July, the E190-E2 world demo tour has wrapped up in Dublin.

The airplane, with its striking image of a shark painted on the front, toured 68 cities in 39 countries. All told, 2,400 guests from 120 airlines flew on local flights that, together, logged 200,000 km (125,000 nm), a distance equivalent to 6 times around the planet.

In addition to visiting potential E2 customers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, China, Asia and Oceania, the airplane was featured at the ALTA Leaders Forum in Panama and the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai.

Despite the E2’s rigorous schedule, often to remote parts of the world like Nepal and Kiribati, the E2 performed flawlessly. It showed its extraordinary operating capabilities at several high-profile airports including London City, with its short runway and steep approach requirement, and Lhasa’s Gonggar Airport, 3,570 m (11,713 ft) above sea level.
