More E-jets in Middle East

Oman Air of Muscat took delivery of the first of an order for five E175s on March 22 at a ceremony at Embraer’s factory in São José dos Campos. More than fifty E-Jets are in service with nine scheduled and non-scheduled carriers in the Middle East.

Mr. Peter Hill, Oman Air CEO, officially received the aircraft from Embraer Executive VP Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva. In his address to the audience, Mr. Hill indicated that the E175 would enable the airline to fly more point-to-point routes that are currently not sustainable with larger aircraft.

In addition to flying nonstop between Muscat & Bahrain and Muscat & Doha, the E175s will operate on some domestic routes including the replacement of turboprop service at Khasab in the northeast.

Each E175 is configured with eleven Business Class and sixty Economy Class seats. The dual-class arrangement ensures a premium product offering across the entire Oman Air jet fleet.

Every seat on the E175 has an individual TV monitor for the audio and video entertainment system.
