.SkyWest, Inc. of Utah, USA, continues to grow its fleet of E-Jets. Last month, it ordered 25 E175 and this month it has placed and order for 20 more, 45 in total this year.
Five of the twenty E175s will be in a standard, two-class 76-seat configuration. The other 15 E175s will be SC (Special Configuration) variants. Each E175SC will have a larger premium cabin which reduces the overall aircraft seat count to 70. The layout is ideally suited for routes that have a high component of premium-fare demand.
Since the SC uses the regular E175 airframe, it can easily be modified to the typical 76-seat configuration. This way, it give airlines maximum flexibility in matching the E175’s layout to the revenue profile of a market.
