Bamboo Airways Flies First E195s in Vietnam

Bamboo Airways of Vietnam officially launched its new non-stop flights to/from Con Dao Airport located on Con Son Island from today, September 29th, 2020 with the E195. It’s the first carrier in the country to fly the airplane. The airline has wet-leased two E195s from Great Dane Airlines of Aalborg, Denmark. The first E195 arrived in Hanoi on September 12 after tech stops in Trabzon (Turkey) and Lahore.

The 118-seat E-Jets connect Con Dao Airport with Hanoi twice daily, and with Hai Phong and Vinh, each with daily nonstops. The E195 is ideal for Con Dao’s 1,830 meter (6,000 ft) single runway. Bamboo Airways will offer both Business Class and Economy Class service on its E195s.

Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently launched a campaign to stimulate domestic tourism to Con Son Island, which lies off Vietnam’s south east coast, since international travel restrictions are still in effect.
