E2. THE LOWEST CO2 EMISSIONS OF ANY NEW GENERATION JET

For airlines, one of the most effective ways to meet sustainability targets is to replace an ageing fleet with newer aircraft. The E2 has the lowest carbon emissions and noise footprint of any new generation aircraft, helping LCCs and mainline operators launch new routes, strengthen existing networks, and accelerate opportunity.

LOWEST CO2 EMISSIONS

Because of new engines, an optimized wing, and the introduction of lightweight materials and new technologies, the E2 can reduce carbon emissions by up to 25% – the lowest figure of any new generation jet.

LOWEST NOISE

With the rising demand to fly to city airports and secondary/tertiary destinations, there is an urgent need for quieter aircraft. The E2 has the lowest noise footprint of any new-generation aircraft flying today – up to 25% quieter than its main competitors. This is having a positive impact for airlines, reducing operating costs significantly while delivering greater airport flexibility.

SAF COMPATIBLE

The E2 is currently certified to operate with SAF blended up to 50% with standard Jet A/A1 kerosene. By 2030 the E2 will be 100% SAF compatible, maximizing the emissions reduction potential of fuel derived from sustainable non-fossil-based feedstock, without compromising safety or performance.

NEW CABIN / SUSTAINABLE CABIN DESIGN

Carpet made from recycled materials. Low energy LED lighting. Ultra-efficient toilets that use half the flush water volume of first-generation E-jets. Air conditioning grills and air ducts produced by additive manufacturing that reduce weight by 40%. The E2 sets the benchmark in sustainable cabin design.

RIGHTSIZING

To be more sustainable and increase profitability, many airlines are looking to right size their fleet with new, fuel efficient, smaller jets. Optimized for flights under 650nm, the E2 enables operators to match capacity with demand, has the lowest cost per passenger of any new generation jet, and provides the added advantage of reducing an airline’s carbon footprint by as much as 30%.

SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING

Embraer is committed to a low-carbon business model. The Sao Jose Dos Campos E2 manufacturing facility in Brazil is powered using 100% renewable electricity, accelerating the reduction of carbon emissions while supporting Brazil’s growing renewable energy sector.
