RAM – First E-Jets in Northern Africa

Embraer E190 EJet Denim Air

Dutch airline Denim Air has leased two E190s to Royal Air Maroc as part of that carrier’s plan to add frequencies and expand its network with the 96-seat, dual class aircraft. RAM’s E190s have 12 seats in Business Class and 84 seats in the Economy cabin.

This summer will see the aircraft flying between Casablanca and points in Africa and Europe, including daily nonstop service to Bordeaux and Toulouse and four weekly flights to Strasbourg.  RAM is also operating the E190s to Berlin Tegel, a route that is four hours flying time and 1,681 nm.  Starting in early December, RAM will return to Munich after a seven year absence with three weekly E190 frequencies.

This winter, the airline willl adjust its schedule and allocate fleet capacity to better match  variations in seasonal demand.  From Casablanca, the E190s will also serve Banjul, Bissau, Fez, Las Palmas, Fez, Marrakech, Nador, Nantes, Ouarzazate, Oujda and Zürich.  Next February, RAM is growing its network with new E190 nonstops between Casablanca and Prague.

RAM is the fifth African airline that operates E-Jets.  Kenya Airways, EgyptAir Express, Air Côte d’Ivoire and LAM Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique also fly Embraer E-Jets.​
